Wedding Day!

“Hallelujah!  For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granter her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure” – for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.  Revelation 19:6b-8 

October is a nice month for a wedding.  Manageable temperatures, beautiful fall colors.  It’s why so many choose this month to make vows before the Lord. 

We all wait for the day that is coming when Jesus will return and gather His church to Himself.  The Scripture speaks of it as a wedding feast.  The Bride, His Church, will be radiant.  Right now this is hard to see.  To our human eyes the church is lacking glory.  Our buildings need some tender loving care.  The people often need reminders at how to be kind and even civil.  The leadership often needs pointers on how to serve and not lord it over people.  But make no mistake.  On the day that God gathers His church together, she will be beautiful.

So as we grow closer to that day, let us speak well of her.Let us be reminded that Jesus Christ bought her with His precious blood (Acts 20:28).Let us treat her as we would the bride on her wedding day.For that day is coming soon…and all who believe in Christ are members of the Bride!
